Hope everyone had a great mother's day. Even for those who have not given birth to a child ~ you are a mother, mentor, or friend to someone. Sometimes I wish someone would step up and be my mother. Mine has been gone 18 years! I enjoyed a Sunday BBQ with my children and grandchildren. Flowers, gifts, good food and fun!
Mother's Day is always a nice time to celebrate mother's but it also adds a bit of stress and resentment to one's life. (At Least Mine) I remember celebrating Mother's Day at my Mother- In - Laws several years ago, working and working on her yard and garden. I really love my mother in law and all, but I did resent the fact that I was working my but off on Mother's Day!
I tried assure my boys, who are married, that if they wanted to do something for me on another day, I was fine with that. I wanted them to take care of their wives and or mother in laws. My former spouse used to say, well I am not your mother! I don't want my children to ever tell their wives, the mother of their children, that!
I am not sure what they did for their wives or Mother in Laws, but I am sure they took care of them. I love my kids, and enjoy every minute I can spend with them!
